Coca-Cola paper bottle
In 2020, Coca-Cola Company partnered with Danish startup Paboco to develop a 100% paper bottle.
Coca-Cola – the biggest plastic polluter of all according to Break Free From Plastic’s brand audits – has left behind a 30-year trail of broken promises, ranging from missed targets on recycled content to failed commitments on recovery and the introduction of alternative materials.
Yet a closer look at this 100% paper bottle shows that it includes a plastic closure and thin plastic lining made from 100% recycled PET, making it harder to separate and recycle due to the combination of materials. So this bottle is in fact not paper, but another broken promise by Coca-Cola.
