Amazon has a ‘Climate Pledge Friendly’ category on their shop and products can meet a range of different criteria to make in there.
These Old Wisconsin Turkey Sausage Sticks, despite the fact dried and processed meat are damaging for the environment, made the cut by some of the packaging being shrunk through removing excess air.
When browsing the ‘Climate Pledge Friendly’ range, customers are given little indication on how a product made the cut. This leads to huge confusion over what is ‘climate friendly’ and some outright false claims.
This product is no longer listed under the Climate Pledge Friendly range and Amazon contacted us to say it was a mistake but it was listed under the pledge for at least 10 months.
