Primark Cares have used their participation in the Ellen MacArthur Foundation Jeans Redesign certification to virtue signal about circular fashion.

However, these jeans still contain 2% elastane (which contaminates recycling processes) and only contain 20% recycled cotton, the rest being conventional cotton. The certification does not truly account for full life cycle of the product. The product also still contains metal parts such as rivets and zippers which need to be removed before recycling, and no indication of how this garment should be disposed of at the end of life.
